Mentoring

 Academic Counselling and Mentoring by faculty

 The college follows the mentor- mentee system wherein 13-14 students are allotted to each faculty. The faculty advisor guides students and mentors them regarding academic and personal issues. Coaching for lessons and other activities carried during internship is part of academic counselling.Special mentoring is organised before examination, during placements and regarding choice of elective subjects.

Mentoring for A.Y 2022-23

Mentoring for CTET

Students appearing for CTET Examination were mentored regularly by Dr Agnes DCosta. Seven sessions were organised both in face to face and in online mode. Guidance was provided with respect to child development and pedagogy, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences. As students would opt for English as First langauge and either Hindi or Marathi as second language, guidance was provided in the subjects as well. Mock tests were displayed and study material was provided to students through Google Classroom. Ten students cleared the CTET held in January 2023.


Mentoring for Placement

Sessions were organised to guide students regarding writing a CV, creating a LinkedIn Profile and appearing for interviews. The faculty mentored students to prepare for placement.

Mentoring for A.Y 2021-22

Mentoring for CTET

Students appearing for the Central TET 2021 were mentored regularly via a specially created Google Clasroom. Three students Ms Shailja Kanodia, Ms Reem DSouza and Ms Elvira Pereira succesfully cleared the CTET. 

Mentoring for Placement

The Placement Cell organised a session on 'Writing of CV' . Dr Agnes DCosta conducted the session on 25 Jan 2022 and elucidated the contents of a CV. On 27 Jan 2022, CA Priya DCosta conducted as session on 'Creating One's LinkedIn Profile'. The finer aspects of a Linked InProfile were explained.




Mentoring by Alumni



Mentoring for A.Y  2020-21

Mentoring for Teacher Eligibilty Test 

130 alumni were mentored online for the Maharashtra TET. For over a month faculty member Dr Agnes DCosta has provided online resources and guided the alumni regarding the TET. An online guidance session was organised on 2 October 2021. 


     Mentoring during Internship

The internship for 2020-21 was through online mode due to the lockdown that accompanied the pandemic. During internship, students were mentored by their respective faculty in charge via social media, online meetings and digital platforms like Google Classroom. Faculty members regularly mentored regarding time management, techniques that could be used to make the teaching -learning experience interactive. In case students required one to one mentoring the same was done through personal chat or through phone calls.

2.     Academic Counseling regarding University Examination

The Final Examination for Semester Three was conducted in online mode. As it was a new experience for students, academic counseling was done by Principal Dr Mabel Pimenta and faculty in charge Ms Angelina Nunes. Faculty members also mentored in the respective groups.

3.     Mentoring  for CTET

Mentoring was done via digital platforms for students appearing for the CTET. Past papers and Google Quiz links prepared by faculty member Dr Agnes DCosta were circulated to provide practice in CTET.  Six students (Ms Rochelle DSouza, Mr Agnel Dias, Ms Vilfrena DMello, Ms Calista DMello, Ms Cerofina DSouza and Ms Andrea DSouza ) passed the CTET.

  •            Appearing for an interview: Interaction with teachers Ms Mildred Dabre (Jamnabai Narsee High School) and Ms Jonella gonsalves (GEMS School, Dubai) on 2 Jan 2021

  • Regular mentoring and updates regarding vacancies in various schools: done by faculty members using social media group: Whatsapp group is used to circulate information regarding vacancies in schools.
  •     Guidance regarding demonstration lessons : done by faculty and at times in collaboration with alumni
